Frequently Asked Questions

  • Clear Minds Brave Hearts Counseling offers private pay and out-of-network (OON) services only at this time. For OON services, once you pay for your service at Clear Minds, you can request a superbill (i.e., receipt/invoice) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. In such cases, you’d be responsible for the fees at the time of our session and depending on your plan, a certain percentage of that may be paid back to you by your insurance company depending on your OON benefits. I encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your OON benefits are just to avoid any scary financial surprises. You can also ask them the best address to send a “Superbill” to. I’ll give you everything you need for that, you’ll just need the address.

  • When you book a free discovery call with me, you will have the opportunity during that conversation to share with me your presenting concerns and goals for therapy as well as get an idea of my approach to the therapeutic process. After the discovery call, we will decide if we think it will be a good client-therapist fit. If we determine that it is not the right fit or the best time to proceed with services, I will do my best to provide external referrals to further assist you in getting connected with a therapist that meets your needs. If it is determined that it will be a good fit, we will decide on a time for your intake session.

  • I am offering telehealth appointments only at this time to individuals throughout the state of CT. I have plans to offer in-person sessions in the near future.

  • This is determined based on various factors including but not limited to your presenting concerns, you and your therapist’s availability, treatment progress, and therapeutic needs. Therapy length is an ongoing clinical conversation between you and your therapist.
